Engineering Communities of Practice

Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.”

I mentioned it a bit in a previous post, related to giving student-learners the appropriate focus prior to throwing assignments and books at them.  The concept and uses are based off work of  Etienne and Beverly Wenger-Trayner.

To Engineer Life we don’t want to escape, it has to be done in conjunction with the people that we share this life with. We have to be able to first become fully aware of our needs and desires; and, be able to effectively communicate that in an effort to understand whether people align or misalign with goals that have been set.

So, never hesitate to tell your story!
